Hi www people
Firstly I won't name names; I'm not about that.
So recently, we had an Officer leave us.. this had been an on going thing with him for around a week.
He had decided he was better than all the other staff and members.. so much so, practically banning us from going in to SM in league/group chat. I PM'd him for a dress down about that.. but things turned cold. around a week later he just left not saying anything, even though I was online at the time.
I like to believe I am understanding, but as league boss of ORS, I knew he knew, how important the morale is, and here he was ignorantly tearing us all down. Seems his Officer Training did not take. I teach all the staff about the importance of morale and what it means, and what the combined work is. He was riding high on his friends, and forgot all about his leaguemates (supposed family).
He did no recruiting, and here, in my ORS Blog, I'll be honest, it's a pertinent problem with the current staff. I keep telling them to recruit, but I am the only recruiter at present. With FeartheFears* rejoining last month, we're having ORS Off-Season so when we resume on the 1st of July, I fully expect him and RAGEner* to show the current staff how it's done.
I digress.. What that person did was a betrayal. IF you respect someone you talk to them about your problems. You be straight with them.. he left and joined another league that night, without so much as a word. I noted on Wavedox he left that league.. I wonder if it was becuase I let on to one of that leagues members, he had been poached.*
now I gotta go.. i *may* be back to edit this.. and I plan to do a 'History of ORS' also.

Thoughts on Powersets..(esp. Fire)
Hi WWW
First blog for here :)
Recently, I was fascinated with leveling my Fire alt 'XgmaAtom' I couldn't stop thinking about if I got him to end game with huge skill points if he could be a battle cross-role quasi-healer!! :)
I was mistaken in my belief that 'Inferno' group heals for small amount.. I had garnered this belief due to playing with a Fire player in 2012. Turns out this was a glitch. Back then Fire would give you some small heals and some very small ticks of power. When I found out this was no longer so.. this dampened my enthusiasm much like a fire going out under a wet rag.
We have cross-roles in Powersets, Sorcery Healer/DPS with a Tank Pet, Celestial Healer/DPS PoT Shields giving power back, Fire.. would make I feel, a great addition to these two. I'd like to see Inferno group heal based on the player's restoration. Enflame could tick 5 ticks of power too if done inside Inferno, all players would have to be inside Inferno to benefit from the effect. This does not replace healers, but DPS Fire or Tank Fire would support the front line.
I imagined myself and other Fire DPS's on the battleline fighting a boss, making mass inferno's hehe.
What would the idea do?.. encourage players to;
1. choose Fire as a powerset.
2. increase Skill Point hunting for the powerset.
Ice is a great Powerset, why can't we bring back some Glory to Fire? It is an 'Iconic Powerset'.(Superman). like Gadgets (Batman/Joker/Lex Luthor) and Celestial (Wonder Woman/Circe). Superman is healed by the earth's yellow sun..this is why Fire has SO many heals.. Fire is a mix of Tank and Healer, just like .. Superman.
The other powers.. Atomic especially, which is like Rage without the Rage Crash and has added damage mitigation on top!.. Atomic is powerful. Fire has no 'angle'.. and with the 'Blowout' mechanism*, not only ending your AM but stealing pretty much all of your power in the process;
I don't see why players should choose Fire.
I want Fire to be GREAT! I would love to see the 'Blowout' mechanic disappear, and group healing be in place.. especially with the upcoming #statsmatter
What I imagine..having high SP would enable the player to reach the necessary +30 Restorations, we are still dealing with DPS and Tank so using Resto as a secondary and tertiary stat. Fire doesn't need a damage boost imho.. it needs a AM that players can work with! That Blowout 'kills the mood', and we do not have damage mitigation to the order of Atomic or Ice.. We do not have their damage.
Fire should be next in line for an update. if any devs read this.. PLEASE consider making Fire a cross-role power while updating.
SigmaAtom
Quick Bio:
SigmaAtom, OrderoftheRedSun was formed from two Officers of one the first EUPC leagues; 'Kryptoniansnipers' League. The two officers were/are SigmaAtom (Drill Sgt) Aldencek (PVP Capt). ORS was formed mid 2012.. dissolved in 2013. Brought back after the cr increase of 2 years. SigmaAtom; 3000+ hours of league staff experience. currently proud but hates being a league boss as it's 'a dumper truck ton of extra work.. I just wanna be a drill sgt again, it's easy compared to this!'
*which I would guess was originally supposed to give massive damage but has since been nerfed.

Few Thoughts on Free Powers.. TL: DR warning
SigmaAtom, Oct 16, 2015.
Hi Guys
just a light hearted thread on my thoughts about pay-for and free powers. some thoughts id like to share.. please share yours :)
I think Electric should be free.. why? because its more fun than the 'hard core' style powers.. rage im looking at you! hehe .. the more .. well i found them .. complex powers, are probably best with experienced players.. celestial, rage. Also Nature is such a complete powerset, I wouldn't have that in the free section, I would definitely switch Nature and Electric.
I hope Atomic is not a way of phasing out Fire, the two (at present) seem so similar, but i guess we need to get used to and know the new power yet. ..and i'd like to see the ability to switch the flame colour of Fire in the style menu. that'd be cool. (OLD info)
Light is kinda broken imho..mm.. when the second move of a light combo switches to precs, we lose half our damage and this continues throughout the combo. I have 9334 might, which by the second move drops to 3992 precs even though im still using my powerset. you could say why not just clip individual powers and not combo, but i see it eat through the power quick enough to make me wonder why I have infinite combos :/
I think Light should be free. there are enough Lantern fans who would join just to try it out, going by the amount of Lantern's in game.
Erm the third switch I would make.. depends, if Gadgets gets the pet buff like Soc and and Earth, i'd make that a pay for power. Soc is free right now, but this would give us 3 'pet powers' one for each class. Gadgets pay for, Light free.
TBH, I have really enjoyed the pet powers, makes the game so much more fun for me. you could say 'lack of skill' or whatever but after years of being HL.. i needed a break from the slog. HL makes solo feel like grinding haha.. (there's bit more truth in there than i'd like to admit)
I think Soc should be a pay for power..but replaced by a new free power. Water will be pay for..but its a shame we couldn't switch these around.
Some people think the game should be harder.. some think easier. I think its already there and they haven't realized. if you want an easy game .. go a tank class. medium to hard go a controller class, hard to very hard go a healer class. tank dps is easy compared to controller dps (controller class in dps role)..and as for healer, I was celestial until T4 with 100+ SP on my alt before i switched to soc.. I got smashed regularly. it's hard even with semi-decent gear.
Have a great and bizarre day!

FWIW.. dont drink Chinese Coke..think that + chicken was what did it.
mmm....The Iconic Pet .. there for anyone with a power point. Ive asked before and i'll ask again, he needs his own skill tree, with his own skill points.

New Cities in DCUO.. your opinion..
SigmaAtom, Aug 2, 2015.
Hi guys
I'd like to find out if other members would enjoy new cities, We have 2 splendid ones, however I have felt many times and hear around, people might like a new city.
With DB's new attitude of listening to the community, i'd like to know, if it's just a pipe dream of mine.
Firstly, this is a what ill call a [game mode of thought] we have experiences and they scale. So I'm suggesting we have cities as we do our scaling experiences*.
my ideas?
1. Open up Central City. I know it's just Little Bohemia in mirror image, however, reducing the 'white fog' area throughout the whole of dcuo i feel is a plus. This would be our Third city, and I'd like to see it open for everyone, not just subbed or premium but free* also, open for all T2 and above.. why? because when it was made; it was a paywall content that is no longer relevant, as we/DB have other ways of using the content. this 'grand opening' would only be for the city not the rest of the content. The Flash vendor *could* have a couple of items such as the lower gear even for free members. You would actually have to look for the bounties throughout the city, new paradox bounties could be easily added. PVP phase could be properly used with both Vil/Hero sides in the same place.
After another 2 years..
2. Open up the main Oan city. in the T6 duos.. you can see it outside, it seems like there is quite a bit work done already. Coast City could be done, but because it's pretty much all there, i didn't think there was the need, and Oa would be great reward for being both a GL fan and loyal DCUO player. a T6/7 City, I realize we have GUSiege, and I enjoy the content, but it's not a new city*.
then every 2 years after a new city to go along with the new tiers. 'you must be *this* tall to go on this ride'.. I think many have left after GU47, however with such content.. could they resist coming back??
let me know what you think guys :)
regardless
have a great and bizarre day!

Update 12/July/2016
I've been fascinated for months with an idea..
Unbottling South Gotham.
Why couldn't it be our Star City??
I'd like to see Coast City too. open and available.. a T4 city.. low Brainiac presence.. but Red and Orange Lanterns Fighting in the streets. :}
Why do we *need* more cities??.. we don't.
It's just boring to have just two for the whole life of the game.
I realize..the devs will never do this.. which is truly sad. .. We have had many re-used play-spaces.. which I *actually* enjoy revisiting places.. coz if you live in a city you'll see that place again, under different circumstances.
It's not my job to think up ways of for the Devs to save money.. in all other game types, I am catered for, either the company will charge me for the content or some kind mod-dev will offer me it for free.
Only in MMO's do we think of the Devs profit margin.
Player bases in smaller cities.. but still cities is important for the focus of single player type experiences.
The Devs want us to be of a group mentality. I agree with this for very much the most part, however, DCUO has something unique you don't get elsewhere, as far as I know. a usable Single Player experience.
What about the Arrow style char? can he just live in Gotham? or the Speedster.. Metropolis is fine right? or the Lanterns..just R&R in Metro right?
With the new hardware of the PS4 and Xbox One.. we are no longer tied to old gen consoles. but ah! here comes the rub.. DB do not have the cash for this. Apparently even updating textures is hard for them now :/ .. I don't want to be hard on them, and anyways that isn't my job either.. to tell them how to run their business.
They recently lost a high up Dev. this is possible why all the delays and the recently announced return to larger content DLCs.
Where is my money going?
I spend a small fortune on my hobby.
I have no idea.
notes---
* I just realized that Gotham Wasteland IS our T5 city :) .. so in a way we have experienced this before. I saw how happy it made people, .. how friendly they became in GW.
*T5 is the end of free play content I respect that. I also respect free players who manage to get there. it's a great advert for DCUO in general also. at the start I was for a while a premium player, I liked it. I am now subbed, yearly, and enjoy it enough that I'll continue. all three states have value :)
*the new T7 play space *feels* tiny..like half the size of watchtower.

League Hall Improvement Suggestions..
SigmaAtom, Jul 26, 2015.
Hi guys
I'd like to suggest a few minor improvements that, I feel, would benefit everyone. hope that's okay.
Vendors!
In the LH we have crafting benches but no vendors like we do in HQ/WT/HoD.. this I find makes the benches only useful if you want to salvage* as we do not have instant access to all the materials needed to craft mods. having a broker and robot vendor here also would I feel make the most sense.
Robots!
Random robots like in HQ but with matching LH colours.. whatever your LH colours are these robots will have appropriate colours. every robot being a cola and repair robot would make hanging around the LH possible as a staging area for raids.. and not having to go to the HQ for repairs everytime.
Teleporters!
Teleporters should be linked to the one you have at home.. this would make them of a more dynamic purpose and also much more useful. .. mm maybe that sounded poncy..okay.. rem Batman down the batpole in the 60's?? To action!!
Statues!
If the LH is deco'd in a way staff like, and suddenly a new recruit gets on the big plinth.. well that might upset members who are trying to earn their way up there. I suggest the Ranks allowed to spend prestige are also allowed to edit/chose the individual members of any plinth and name the grouping.
The above suggestions; I and many others I have spoken to feel these would be vital improvements. I have some frivolous ideas also..
Open Areas
Opening up all of the locked areas.
Living Quarters
Having individual dorm rooms for staff and members, where they can deco their own quarters, even if not allowed to do so in the rest of the LH.
Communal TV room.
nice place to sit.. IRL I'd have a smoke .. watching Gotham news hehe.
Building
Being able to change the appearance of the LH structure, add and remove rooms. add an outside glass dome with plant area. basic room exchange being free, and being given a certain amount of rooms for free every month*..but if you want the Atrium or additional rooms, that would cost prestige. We could also have a Dock with a ship, and the ship lets you teleport to any special events with the group you are in.. a 'walk-in' for events.
Well that's my ideas.. some of these were other peoples too.. said to me by many people repeatedly over a long period of time.
regardless,
Have a great and bizarre day!

Pet Skill Trees and Colour Options..
SigmaAtom, May 29, 2015.
Hi guys!
I've been thinking about pet expansion for ages. Want to get the ideas out of my system* .
If we name our pets would that be confusing if two are named the same? But if we have our own name under theirs like we do with leagues eg.
iPod
<SigmaAtom>
This means no confusion as each char name is unique to each server.
I have found many times the pet colour clashes with my particular style. having access to a pet style menu, would be great imho, meaning we could design a few parts and of course change the colour to match our own. I'd like to see it accessed via Traits>Skills> then a third option of 'Pets'.
'Pets' would have a miniature version of some of our player menu options.
Stats.
Style.
Skill Trees.
Feats.
STATS
A list of the Pet's statistics, much like ours. The CR would have no overall CR, but *could* have D/KO critical success rate something like '85% of critical attacks killed the enemy and 15% of enemies critical attacks KO'd 'iPod' (insert your pet's name).
STYLE
Vanilla
Firstly, we have a colour palette selection for the Pets vanilla style and body type. This would work the same it is does with us, except you wouldn't be able to select each individual style, only each individual color.
Custom
The Pet styles could have a basic style for each powerset, extra ones you earn in raids, but many different ones could be sold in marketplace, pet body styles could also be sold in marketplace.
This is a very visual thing I am doing and so is very hard to explain in words..but please bare with me..
Take for example the Iconic Pet and 3 basic powerset pet styles; Quantum, Fire and Electricity* bodies..Firstly, each pet has an overall style, for Fire the Pet would have the Iconic Pet body but have no solid looking parts but look as if we had applied a Fire Material to their entire body. Or Quantum glowing swirling or Electricity static material. Then there are Basic Custom Bodies, I suggest 3 we can earn in raids, one that looks like Sorc 'Guardian', one that looks like Gadgets 'Turret' and one that looks like Earth 'Crystal' each start with the 'powerset pet material' .
For 'powerset pet materials' we can earn them in raids as a final reward choice from the last boss of a raid, not to be a hard RNG but medium RNG. For bodies, (see next section) if you have completed all the feats you get a medium RNG for the 3 basic body styles in the loot picker.
With the special OG pet styles and OG body styles, these are exclusive to marketplace.
SKILL TREES
Skills also determine role, unlike us, Pets can have 4 roles. They earn skill points just like us with feats, but these are accomplished by themselves. Feats like 'Do more damage than your master on a single opponent not more than 25 levels below you' and like; 'Take 90%+ damage but go on to survive and beat your opponent' or 'Deliver a deathblow that saves your master from knockout'
1 feat = 1 skill point
We have 15 power points, 15 skill points for pets could be earned, with access to all four roles, once one path is chosen the others become closed, spending your first skill point means that tree is the only tree that can be accessed.
Like our various weapon skill tab;
Tank
DPS
Healer
Controller
When the first skill point is spent this determines the style behaviour of the pet. And just like us there are health/damage/ healing/power boosts. inside it looks much like our power trees. But there are 15 abilities and skills. skill one is the 'personality token'. all pets have melee ability and a normal range attack. but nothing else until they earn skill points.
When we achieve feat points we get a great reassuring notification, I suggest a miniature one like ours in right hand corner, I imagine it in gold with blue text.
FEATS
(UPDATE 17th/Nov/17:
This could now be done .. and more easily managed by DB if the Artifacts system was used to level your Pet instead of feats.. it means that you wouldn't have to rely on your pet to complete a feat by it's AI alone.
Each level would grant a skill point that you could assign in your pet skill tree menu)
Upon your pet's first feat, you are sent a message by Alfred or Catwoman via the Batcave computer, stating you have successfully converted one of the Batcave's drones, and they hope you will use the pet as a formidable ally. attached is your pet's powerset material.
Once your pet has finished all feats you get a message from Batman or Joker saying they are glad you and your new friend are getting along so well. Attached is powerset pet bed deco; once placed in your lair, if you emote sleep while in your base, your pet will go and lay down on his/her/it's bed & join you for a rest.
Message:
'All Upgrades Complete!"
Feat for you:
It's Alive!
Now you can earn those extra styles and body styles in raids.
Completing all feats also gives your pet access to a powerful Supercharge of summoning 4 more of itself*.
I really enjoyed sharing my ideas even if in a swash of other good ideas from other members.
Have a great and bizarre day!

Feats.
Like our various weapon skill tab;
Tank
DPS
Healer
Sigma
*(I posted similar before but have had more ideas since)
*(these three I feel are the *most* to use the iconic pet)

SigmaAtom's quick crash-course to Strategy
Hi guys
Firstly, I'm no expert, but I make a small token of this to new players to ease the understanding of roles and what they do and how they are supposed to work together. and for advanced players, yes I'm a clutch player guys. slow methodical. :)
-----
First written for my old league in 2011, updated a bit.
Tank
first into the fight. highest defence. the tank leads the charge of the formation and should know maps well, a basic grip of the storyline helps too. the whole group follows the tank as a pinnacle of formation. can grant defence.
DPS
general fighter and/or heavy weight. does quest and story items. protects the controller and healer, does crowd control (killing mobs) good all rounder. information dps's move around a bit but should try to stay in the centre behind the tank, as the healer and controller should line up with the tank.
Healer
keeps everyone alive. essential. lowest defence. stays at the back of the charge and has the controller as bodyguard. should not be made to fight, if any dps's let hostile's stray a combination of the healer and controller is used to take down the hostile.
Controller
restores energy: keeps the fires burning. aerial attack, stays last in the charge to protect the healer, if you see me waiting for you and your a dps.. kindly move!. ill want to protect the healer first. the controller charges their energy by build ups of weapon discharge, then shares it with the group, the healer gets to heal the dps get to fight and the tank can grant defence to themselves or others.
and that's my brief guide to roles and formation.
Sigma
(mumbles under breath: dps' wandering off flip sake..)
---------------------
Tanks have ultracharged health.
DPS can tank, but without the bonus it makes it more difficult.
Healers are bit smashed in this game tbh. but the role is designed that way for good reason. if they were not they could repeatedly heal themselves (this happened at launch making them undefeatable iirc in PVP).
If the troller can't see the healer he can't power heal them, many tanks will say that the healer should go at the back, last, but this breaks the ability to power heal + BG (bodyguard). not all trollers fly, but i found many many do.. with good reason, you can see the whole fight from the sky easily.
-----
*Roles in Tandem
The Tank's job is to keep the whole group alive, if your group wiped quickly, and the healer was empty, the tank did not draw enough aggro.
The Tank's primary concern is the whole group's health. Tank buffs can also help the survivability of the group, but especially support. human shield distracting mobs/enemies by drawing the aggression toward them (aggro).
The Healer's job is similar but with emphasis on keeping the tank alive. Buff's to keep the DPS happy and hitting hard. Tank comes first and the healer should always reserve a little power for the tank.
The Controller's primary job is to keep the Healer alive. Debuffs are secondary, PoT's/Recharge thirdly. (second and third can be interchangeable depending on the situation, but never the first) always keeping enough power for the healer to keep everyone alive (meaning also and primarily the tank).
DPS's *should* be PoT'd and HoT'd at all times. The Controller can use debuffs on enemies to control the group's power eating by lowering defence, controlling the healer power out with weapon smashing and increasing the group survivability. The Healer can add buffs raising the protection and abilities of the group, increasing survivability and help alleviate power eating.
Recently I see more and more healers wondering off and ranging.. this is an upsetting trend, and I feel bad every time they die because of this, if they had stayed close I could have protected them and revived them from knockout.
Group Jobs.
The Tank is the *only* one who should open doors or trigger 'open door events', He/she should wait for the whole group. No DPS's should trigger the event.. why? becuase it grows confidence in the tank, that they can do their job without a DPS taking it off them. I heard recently from a friend 'so many leagues now don't let you express your role as a tank.. they just treat you as another DPS' .. that's became so true over the last few years from what i gather.
The Tank and Controller have a symbiotic relationship in regards to keeping ~the integrity of group formation.
The Tank should wait until all group members are in the trigger spot/door until proceeding, the controller should wait on the last group member to keep them with the group. When the tank checks his map, he/she should see no blue blips off map, if he does, it means 1 or more of the group have fell behind and the controller is probably there waiting on the lagging group member, and the he (the tank) should tell the group to wait.
I have seen LOADS of DPS's triggering a door event, only to die, coz I was the ONLY Troller in the raid. They needed me but I was busy collecting an errant DPS, so why would another DPS trigger the door event? the healer is almost certainly going to die without the controller present, then the tank then the DPS. you need to wait for the group to be whole.
Simply put the DPS's primary concern is dealing damage to mobs. Protecting support yes. but killing firstly. Story yes... but. you get me. :)
------------------
Here are some Strategy Plays I thought up.. these are just to give ideas, nothing more :)
17th October 2012
Well, now after a month or two months Raiding off and on, before this Alerts was my staple diet, I have come up with some raiding strategies.. if you will indulge me..
Standard Raid
2+2+2+2=8, the raid most may use if available.
2 Tanks to draw fire and grant protection.
2 DPS to deal damage. protect the group and do story.
2 Healers to keep everyone ALIVE, also can add buffs.
2 Controllers to Regen charge and bodyguard each healer.
1+3+1+2+1=8 The Raid people use when they only use 1 Tank.
like above although..
1 Tank to draw fire and grant protection.
3 DPS, two of which do damage and do story, 1 keeps an eye one of the Healers, because 1 Controller, the controller that does the Buffs/Debuffs, cannot always bodyguard them.
1 Controller to do buffs/debuffs and drink colas as to not put a strain on the other controller, as the second controller has to 'feed' a group of six. but this controller should help out when possible, but it's not mandatory. also can bodyguard but again not mandatory. This Controller's job, is to try to ease the group's energy eating and so to ease the other controllers job. also helps kill bosses, as a kind of, second debuff Tank. kind of.
2 Healers that keep everyone alive :) can also Buff.
1 Controller, does Regen and Charge and stays at the back of the formation like normal, the other does the Buffs/Debuffs.
Some 'Plays' I have thought of but not had the pleasure to try yet.
This play , I call 'PopStar' haha.
1+3+3+1
That is 1 Tank 3 DPS 3 Controllers and 1 Healer.
This one is a full on assault, and puts strain on the Tank, with the Healer as 'PopStar'. 3 Controller bodyguards 'spamming' regens and charging, while DPS and Tank do all the heavy lifting. This play is a mirror, with the Tank at the front then 3 DPS then 3 Controllers, and 1 Healer. the Healer is surrounded.
Fire Tanks can also help in this situation by healing the front line DPS.
the Controllers are to keep everyone at full energy. but really to keep the healers energy full so the healer can spam health to keep the Tank and DPS alive.
If you're a big eater you'll like this play as you can always use your strongest attacks.
I kinda figure Aldin might like this.. haha. BB not so much. -.- (old leaguemates 2012)
I call this play, 'Two Legged Horse'
2+3+1+1
This a is a weak/slow/churn play. It's for very hard slow levels.
2 Tanks to draw fire and do story.
3 DPS who do crowd control and bodyguard the [support].
1 Healer to keep everyone ALIVE. hehe
1 Controller to charge the healer. the Controller needs time to rebuild energy to give to the [assault] and this is in relation to what was going to be a slow churn anyway.
Fire Tank again can aid healing the front line here.
With this play take your time and be thorough, and the DPS *has* to stay close to everyone and kill every bad guy.
Just in case you were unsure..
Tank and DPS are [assault] and Healer and Controller are [support].. think of them like.. a band. The Tank is the Singer, the DPS are the Guitarists, the Healers are the Bassists and the Controllers are the Drummers.
Well thats enough from me just now guys.
Sigma.

have a great and bizarre day!

update: I recently read the 'Tip:' about role-less buffs.. i'm not sold on it, but it must be a good thing right?..no idea how it works out though. no way to check.
