Now firstly, These are the ideas I use and have seen them work, if for any reason you are doubtful of them, no one is saying that they know better than you. You are welcome to pick and chose, even ignore, these ideas. kindly.
I will explain why each idea exists. Why each rank is important, to both morale (confidence and happiness) and (league) self respect.
Induction
Before joining our League we have Induction, we set forth our ideals, we ask members to remain polite to other members within the league and the community at large. While not mandatory, we let them know, that there is at least *some* expectation to remain friendly and helpful to other leaguemates and even helpful to the community at large.
IMPORTANT: we ask them if they agree.
if they say 'yes' an invite is sent. if they say 'no' (at times swearing is the answer) we say that we decline their application.
The agreement is a bond of trust, that they had to earn. now we see if they live up to the leagues ideals during the 'candidate' and 'recruit' phase.
----
League Event Nights
We have League Night every Friday at 7GMT, this is so once a week members are guaranteed a raid or alert they may have been waiting for but Qing has been so long their time did not allow through the week. This also means we bond and become familiar with each others play-style and capabilities.
Setting a day and time in the MOTD lets everyone know what's expected of them, and what they should expect.
Wednesday is League PVP Night 7GMT, this is a great opportunity for leaguemates interested in PVP, to build marks/gear and have a lots of fun doing it. Kaya is our PVP Capt. also our Tactical Officer for the League, but PVP Capt. can be any Officer as it's a head of Dept. She's (he) just a great PVPer!
The PVP Capt. arranges a PVP Crew, this is to take pressure off members who do not have an interest in PVP, feeling like they are not pulling their weight, by refusing to help PVP. The idea is for everyone to have fun, when your PVP Capt. builds a crew, the crew have *asked* to be part of it.
Unified time for members for league Raids/Alerts or PVP, increases confidence in the league and morale in general.
----
Ranks
Now, really, this is easy for people to understand, as I based it on a Star-Trek-NxGen style of command.
League Boss (I didn't change it from 'Leader' but I refer to myself as..)
First Officer
Tactical Officer
These three are the Senior Staff. Only one person per rank.
League Boss has all League permissions.
First Officer has all League permissions, except to edit permissions.
Tactical Officer has all League permissions, except to edit permissions.
I deal with any unpleasant business with league members, in regards to them leaving due to absence.
I write them a nice letter. We as Senior Staff discuss who is leaving, staying, doing well, doing badly. it is our duty as staff to both protect invested members and maintain order. So we can serve our little community all the better.
--
Officer has all League permissions, except to edit permissions and spend prestige.
The first thing you should be taught when becoming an Officer is; never lose your cool. never lose your temper. no matter how much you are goaded. Always be communicative. Be clear in intention and purpose. Be friendly, no one wants to feel shouted at, if they did not understand something, it's 'bad form'. Do not swear, why? because you are garnering respect from people you have never met in person, they do not know your character in real life, they have to believe in you, the easiest way to do this is by not swearing. The community at large has to find you of good character, that you can give honour to your league.. and most of all, it keeps people calm. I cannot stress how important that is. have you ever came online and with 30 mins there is some drama, that looking back could have been easily solved, but exploded? Swearing puts petrol on the flames, not just for arguing either, boisterous chat can so easily lead to making members too 'hepped up' (excited).
Never expose your chat in public. It is humiliating for the people involved, and only goes to show you are unworthy to be an Officer.. if as an officer you have to 'dress someone down' do it in PM ONLY. This is one of the worst things an Officer can do.. to rebuke someone in public. PM Only, even if the member is swearing at you, don't take it public. if you go away for an hour and it still bothers you, take it to the league staff. NOT PUBLIC, I cannot stress that enough.
In Group I ask leaguemates politely for no swearing. as the group has seen them already.
Officer Rank:
Officers can be General Officers, or heads of dept. These are only one rank and the heads of dept. are known to the senior staff, but the rank is still 'officer'.
Comms Officer: Speaks many languages, has a good knowledge of the entire league roster, their background (ASL).
Purser Officer: Trader and holder of the league cash and exos. Establishes Trade with other leagues. hands out in-game money and items to league members. (this is for large leagues, why have senior staff have to leave what they are doing to help a league mate in a simple matter?)
PVP Capt. : As mentioned before, leads and creates a PVP crew, responsible for teamwork. Brings prestige (currency) to the league.
Drill Sgt. : responsible for basic training. formation. general information. to start to form in the mind of recruits what teamwork is in dcuo. usually top recruiter, but not always.
All Officers have a duty to help the league, no matter if a head of dept. or general officer. but if an officer is out of his depth (purser being asked PVP questions) he should be forthright and honest, say he/she doesn't know the answer and to wait for the relevant person to come online. no need to get embarrassed and make up some nonsense/mis-information. It's OK.
--
Officer's Sidekick : has all League permissions, except to edit permissions and spend prestige.
This is a little complicated to understand but bear with me.
Why should my officers have to be without their rank on secondary chars? Are their other chars in other leagues?
This rank is dedicated to secondary chars, for myself the senior staff and all officers. It gives an incentive to keep all chars in the same league and spend more time there helping. But also it is something for the group leaders to strive for, once becoming an officer, you get to keep your position even on other chars..
--
Ensign : Invite member. Edit MOTD. LH Admin. LH Bank in & out.
These are officers in training. These are the 'junior staff'. They help members when the senior/general staff cannot. Usually they help lower cr members and new candidates/recruits. but in practise I found it takes time for them (new Ensigns) to adjust to being more than just a member. give them time, they are self learning the help portion of being an officer. reminders from you to help not a bad thing in PM :)
--
Veteran : Invite member. Edit MOTD. Hall Deco. LH Bank in & out.
We use this position for Senior members who are not staff. The idea is members who wish to be of more service to the league without being staff. usually high CR.
--
Members : LH Bank in & out.
Regular players who maintain the ideals of the league. Friendly. mix in well. maintain a CR increase. if absence is an issue clear it with senior staff first.
We have/had 2 members.. one after much help, disappeared, and did not tell us what was going on. I had to let him go. it was a sad thing becuase we liked him. but he didn't give any excuse, he just logged in and out for no reason. I was sad and unhappy with this.
Another member, told me of his concerns, that he could only play at weekends, he explained his situation and I decided he was honest and respectful. He is still with us.
No one wants a dead league. attendance is crucial to maintaining a community.
---
Recruits : LH Bank out.
Candidates, who stuck around for a few days. did not wrong anyone, or wrong staff or the league. some adjustment is needed at times. but we try to give them time to learn.
--
Candidates : N/A
New inv. are this until they show up again.. then after a few times on..or if the staff likes them, we move them to recruit. if they miss league nights and have no/low attendance, they are removed and sent a nice letter.
--
It doesn't matter what you hope for in people.. see what they actually do, in reference to candidates and recruits. No one wants a dead league ..give them time.. a week. and if they do not show, they have not remembered you well enough to want to play with you, or further your league.
When you have high CR Candidates... the first thing they do is check the roster, for others CR (and your league boss SP), then check the dates of attendance. if you have many many members who are never on.. these people not only going to be unimpressed, there is now a chance they will leave.. or worse, use your league as a place to dump their secondary char.
That's unacceptable.
--
Morale
Keeping things light and happy can be a wasps nest of lies ..maintaining the correct distance can make you feel like a politician.
The easiest way, is league nights, they are like the pub crawl of MMOs haha ..be honest with people, don't lie. believe me they can tell. and if you whoops and TMI.. if they are cool people behind the keyboard, they will understand. That's what makes them good members. The ones who want to shame you.. they are bad, but can be shown something better.. with your good conduct, at other times.
Its an easy way of spotting a friend ..if they uphold the ideals of the league, and respect you, and don't mind your flaws. These are the ones who become your officers. :)
As far as members go.. they just need the confidence that if they need it.. they will be helped. That Staff are doing the job of running the league so they don't need to worry and can focus on whatever it is they want to do in game.
Staff morale is a tough cookie..but as long as you continue to inspire those who do a job for the league, with maintaining the ideals you set forth. they feel* like they know you, becuase you are not upsetting them. These are your friends.
Drama is weird thing.. Qing for raids is so boring.. gossip and clyping*.. maintain a tone that if you don't do it. they shouldn't. You don't have to say that.. just don't do it. League Boss is the example all in the league follow.. even by nature of the league system. You don't do it and everyone stays calm. If other (Staff) do it.. show polite disapproval..or..don't and it means the end of your league. you have been warned.
On a lighter note.. while writing this I was rem'ing being in my first league as Drill.Sgt.. one of the other officers said to me.. 'HAHA your just the babysitter!'.. at the time (2011) I was really hurt and offended.. but while writing this I was laughing and laughing.. thinking 'hey, he was right' :)
Have great and bizarre day!

Notes:
*That may sound cold, but its for the purpose of morale only. you can open up and be close friends, that's not the issue. but if you let the ideals of the league down in front of your officers, thats a big problem. if you're sick and make a gaff, being truthful with them first would have been smart. say 'i'm pretty sick' being weak is human, if they are good people they will understand. hiding it from them ..may help them in the short term, but hurt you in the long term. .. what I'm saying even when its difficult upholding the ideals of the league is imperative. number one. mixed well with truth, it can help their morale and bond you in loyalty. mess it up.. and they will have a lingering suspicion of your intentions, and if you 'practise what you preach'.
*(I don't know the english word, talking behind someones back to be nasty for your own amusement or advantage. clyping is a Scots word, children use it as a word for 'telling tales' to a parent on someone, I'm appropriating it here)

Loving the new kryptonian storyline.. some background (TL; DR Warning)
Hi guys
just a few thoughts and feelings on the ( idk what it's called.. 'Earth:New Krypton'?) storyline. So if you have 5 mins, grab a coffee and have a read. enjoy!
Loving it! feels like a true continuation..
Some background for those who aren't familiar with the dynamics;
The House of El, is the last noble house of Krypton, and while Kara (Supergirl) is the oldest of the House El, Kalel (Superman) is the descendant of the most senior member of that house (Jorel); Zod and his men while kryptonians are not of noble birth, but are sworn to protect the nobles. This is why General Zod feels such deep internal conflict.. to attack the 'charge' he is sworn to protect is, even to himself, treason. As with much of the media surrounding him.. even though at times he threatens Kalel.. he never tries to fully kill him, he can neither lower himself to be the traitor and hypocrite nor give up hope that Kalal will one day be the first true noble of New Krypton. He is a kryptonian supremacist and in many ways a fascist, ideals that do not lend themselves to easily hypocrisy (as odd as that sounds, lowering himself to human standards is not an option).
Non is also a noble, but driven mad by regret. Non and Jorel were partners in science, Zod does not see him as a candidate for restoring the nobles due to his insanity.
Ursa is Zod's partner/wife. in their media, they have a child together called Lor-Zod. Ursa was the person given charge to arrest Jorel and Non for treason, however she discovered that they (Jorel and Non) were telling the truth, she freed them and reported the truth to Zod. Zod started a war on Krypton, believing that the Science Council had hidden the truth (this is also why he doesn't blame Kalel for Krypton's destruction).
Kandor is a bottled city. Using kryptonian science, one city of krypton was saved.
Jorel and Zorel (Supergirl's Father) are brothers.
Alura (still alive) Supergirl's mother is the leader of Kandor, She pardoned Zod and Ursa for their crimes.
Lara is Kalel's mother.
Superman, Kalel. We know who he is, but what are his motivations? He does not care about Krypton, he has shown in many many instances preferring Earth to anywhere else including Krypton. WHY? Why is it so easy for him to disregard his heritage? Is it solely his upbringing.. or could it be in his eyes.. Krypton as a society failed, and he keeps his thoughts secret. He knows he is meant to be the next 'prince', but that seems to mean nothing to him. What are his true motives other than protecting the Earth?
Bizarro, Superman's clone (going by DCUO) made by Lex Luthor in the cloning facility. interactions with Zod seem uncertain. Traditionally, he is morally ambiguous, a well meaning person, but becuase of his confusion, a disaster waiting to happen. 'A 7 year old with a taser' to coin a phrase. He and Superman are actually friends, and not enemies. and he acts they way he does, to try to NOT mimic Superman, he is trying to do the opposite and in his confused mind this makes him a hero.
Lastly, there is Power Girl, She is the Earth-2 version of Supergirl, with some caveats. She is immune to Earth-1 Kryptonite. She is known to love extreme horror movies. She *could* be considered as Superman's niece not cousin. She is rumored to be auto-sexual (attracted to Supergirl). She can be harmed by unprocessed materials such as trees or rocks. She has ties to Atlantean heritage. She while having kryptonian abilities is not solely tied to sunlight regeneration, she also uses super-willpower to overcome, unlike the kryptonians of Earth-1. She is considered a much more adult themed character than Supergirl.
Her dynamic in this is uncertain. From what I gleaned from the message boards she seems to hate Zod, and thats all i got. Could it be Earth-2 Zod did something to her.., it seems it's not in the comics so I'm just throwing out an idea, not a background.
The Non referenced in the Supergirl TV show, is not the same as our DCUO Non, the TV Show's one is a pale imitation of the full strength char we have in DCUO. They are just using the name on the TV Show because it's recognizable to fans. Whether or not Non was/is Supergirl's uncle seems uncertain. and while i'm on the subject of the TV Show, Supergirl's costume is awful and im glad we have our DCUO Supergirl back in the T3 Iconic Battle Suit room. :)
DCUO Supergirl + 1
TV Supergirl -1.
I like the TV show but that setup/costume is nothing like Supergirl imho.
regardless, have a great and bizarre day!

Few Thoughts on being a Veteran..
Hi Guys
With the recent welcomed PVP update.. i find over the last few weeks/months i have been reminiscing about 'old PVP' :)
Firstly, I'm no expert PVP player, I'm an OK arena player, and a 'competent' Legends player, I grant myself competent becuase i used to hang with some of the top ranked legends players in 2012 (EUPC).. and i didn't embarrass myself. I'm League Boss of ORS, I leave the PVP to our PVP Capt. Sammy18. amazing player :D
I just normally try to come up for tactics to win, and Sammy either uses them or improves upon them. I don't duel, I only duel with my officers for reasons of morale, because they know how much work i put in as Boss and they respect that, and leave any outside dueling to said officers.
2012 was old legends.. iirc before block breaking and range breaking and melee breaking. I find that like chess now, i play as bizarro and find those kinds of matches super boring, I just want to smash! a 30 sec to 1 min blocking/unblocking match.. was not what i came for hahaha. i can hear the 'birdy song' in my head right now.
'Breaking' is becoming less and less important from what i can see, which is a boon for PVP imho. no longer does it wipe half your bar. and you have a chance to both play and think about what your are doing, instead of just thinking what your opponent is going to do constantly. Now you can employ strategy with other teammates, instead being locked into giving your full attention to just one opponent.
I recently, last fortnight, after being back since Dec 2014, deleted my old PVP gear. I still had the full Robin gear, and part of the lvl 70. I had held onto it.. i have no idea why, ..an antique. hehe i had wanted to put it in a display case in my lair. would have been nice, letting people know the date the last piece was collected. Gone now..
No matter, I almost have the full 99 gear.
These days the heart pumps again.. you feel the exhilaration of the win. the improvements were just that.. much improved. Thanks again to the Devs for this.. winning 'feels' like the wins in old arenas, in this humble veterans opinion. same for legends. very happy :)
Right now I slightly bust up my shoulder IRL, and can't play.. I was watching the Nostalrius Begins trailer today after hearing Blizzard shut-them down.. it recreates original WoW. The new PVP has gave me the good time feels.. like the past but now :)
have a great and bizarre day!

A Collector's Guide to Trinkets & Miscellany..
Hi guys
Firstly, this is a rough work in progress. I own most a few of the trinks, and finding the stats* online about these trinkets has been a bare cupboard pantomime. So bear with me and if you have ANY info make sure to share! I will definitely add if I can test said trinket or see the effect work on YT. I also don't want to cover pure stat booster trinkets, the might + precs ones. The focus here is more on the mysterious ones; as stat booster trinks do exactly what they say on the tin :)
Firstly we have no extra stat trinks.
GUISE TRINKETS
All have no extra stat abilities, and do not have any CC (crowd control) abilities. they are for the purpose of fun only. :)
Clown Nose
Location: Vault Drop
Purpose: Guise in the form of mangled clown.
Timer : Toggle
Non Gender Specific. Always Male.
Demon Figurine
Location: Vault Drop
Purpose: Guise in the form of a Demon.
Timer : Toggle
Male is the form of a Greed Demon and Female a Lust Demon.
Gender Specific. Both Male & Female.
Lion Tooth Juju
Location: Vault Drop
Purpose: Guise in the form of a lion bestiamorph.
Timer : Toggle
Non Gender Specific. Always Male.
Manhunter Circuitry
Location: Vault Drop
Purpose: Guise in the form of a Manhunter.
Timer : Toggle
Non Gender Specific. Always Male/No Gender.
Sinister Clockwork Key
Location: Vault Drop
Purpose: Guise in the form of a Sinister Toy*.
Timer : Toggle
Gender Specific. Both Male & Female.
*Notes: This trinket can disable the disadvantage of having a large body type for races (flight). and enable the agility (not speed, as it is the same) of small body types. races are disabled in the form, however you are able to use the trinket during the countdown.
OFFENSIVE TRINKETS
There are more than the listed offensive trinks, however the vast majority of them were special order; only for launch. please see here under 'Weapons'.
Croatoan's Talisman & Subs.
Location: Halloween Seasonal Vendor.
Timer: Unique
Knockback attack. scaled cr attacks/ignores defense to create the same attack value (i don't know which one it is).Gives black sorcery soul aura. can be increased iirc 4 times.
Suggested Notes: This was the trink i was struggling to find the info on. I had theories but had no idea if it was true or environmental or?..
I think there is a random chance to evade all damage in higher aura states.
I think there is a chance for increased movement speed upon activation.
For Sorcery DPS, I have seen (or imagined) Fury hotly target a black cursed enemy, before a normal cursed one.
Update: Observed; random chance of increased movement speed for Fury upon activation. 30s. each activation tier seems to have a chance of granting.
Dance-a-ma-jig
Location: St. Patrick's Day Seasonal Vendor.
Timer: Unique
very strong CC effect, making all enemies dance in the radius. + 5s.
Fighter's Compartment Trinket and subs.
Location: Central City vendor.
Timer: Unique
transforms the player with a suit similar to the Flash. enables non-scaled buffs of 343 for might and 390 for precision.
enables trinket ability:
Trinket + long press melee = shield.
Trinket + long press range = power regen. (controller only)
Trinket + tap melee = small heal.
Trinket + tap range = hand blasters.
Trinket + DoT + long press range = extended tick damage.
Form: Snowman
Location : Vault Drop.
Timer: Guise
Transforms the player into a Snowman having unique powers and new weapon. does not scale with cr. does not buff. player loses stats, at cr149 I lost 398 precs and 353 might. observed: increased critical chance.
Phantom Zone Kryptonite Chunk
Location: Vault Drop.
Timer: Guise
Changes appearance, weapon (brawling) and abilities. crits seem to scale with cr.
Has three new power moves. Heat Vision, Freezing Breath and Ground Stomp.
after further study, i didn't receive any buffs with or without powermoves.
Notes : known as the rarest trinket in DCUO. in my opinion it's sadly a bit dated now, and could do with an update to granting a full tray set of kryptonian powers and a toggle timer. Defense buff or while in sunlight slight power regen would be nice too.
OMAC Nanite Circuitry
Location: Vault Drop.
Timer : Guise
Often grants all available buffs. lessen the impact of being healer or controller class and evens out the defence, making you like a tank class (no matter the role). Health scales with cr, e.g at cr 149 I gain 1417hp and 750 Toughness.
Notes: ^This imho as a collector. is *thee* best trink in the game. it makes your survivability somewhat tank class like, while granting many or all buffs. I have been hard light since launch*, and until recently HL DPS was *very very* broken, I still think while my damage is somewhat fixed, my defence is strangely under powered, like it doesn't work fully or correctly..if it wasn't for the above trinket, my cr would've been much much lower. it 'corrects' the fault i have on HL and with weaker support class powers in DPS role. when I use it on Zigma my Earth DPS, i feel invincible :D
*switched to Mental. 13th March 2016.
PET TRINKETS
Mister Boo & Subs
Location: Halloween Event Drop, Halloween Vendor.
Timer: Pet
Mental powerset pet. can teleport to enemies. uses SC to create a bastion if taken too much damage. There is an obtainable special Utility Belt*, in which Mister Boo, Ms Boo, Boo Junior and Baby Boo can be placed and activated all at once.
*Boo-tility Belt, item level 66; Klarion Halloween Event Drop.
Four-Leaf Clover
Location : St. Patrick's Day Vendor.
Timer: Pet
Summons a leprechaun pet*. does instant massive damage. ignores defense. attack scales with cr; in duels, did 2 x 2000 + damage.
*there are mixed reports of this trinket working and not working. perhaps it seems some chars have working ones some do not. I am one of the people who has a not working one. so the above report is based on information reported on these forums from other members. for me he does nothing, and never has. update : used against me in a duel.
Sunken Rune & Subs
Location : Summertime Seasonal Vendor.
Timer : Pet
Summons deep sea pet. each role specific pet can perform each role. scales with cr.
Notes: imho great little support pet. doesn't do great damage. but I often use the controller vers. on my healer so he will PoT me.the Tank version is OK too. if Raiding the more people who have the controller vers. the more that can be PoT'd as it's only on the pet's owner.
Spooky Jack & Subs.
Location: Halloween Vendor.
Timer: Pet
summons a pumpkin pet. projects goo spray and fires fireballs. 4 role specific pets*.
Notes: Spooky Jack Troller, Scary Jack Tank, Creepy Jack Healer, Eerie Jack DPS. personally I found Spooky great for tanking, his AI gets right in the enemy's face, handy when in controller role. Eerie seems to often stand still and range attack with fireballs. Scary does a decent job tanking, but his AI isn't as 'in your face' as Spooky. Creepy's AI is like Spooky's.
Servo & Subs
Location : Special DB Gift (Dec 2012/13/15)
Timer : Pet
Summons security bot from the 25th century. comic dialogue. scales with cr. attacks with laser shot while telling jokes. + 5% health buff, 30s.
Notes: much like Blossom very effective in battle, but without the Heal. Comedy: When TOMBOT talked about the exo prices on broker first time we were in ICW.. i was in tears laughing! : ' D and when Servo says 'get him away from me!! .. *composes self* I mean 'Damage Sustained'. oh man comedy gold! :D
Blossom & Subs
Location: Springtime Seasonal Vendor; Seed; Vault Drop.
Timer : Pet
Summons Spore pet. each time Blossom fires a seed she slightly heals the group, and upon death she explodes for AOE Heal for the group. scales with cr. high damage attacks and often critical attacks.
Notes: ^ This, in my humble opinion as a collector is *thee* best pet trinket, Blossom is both support and dps in one pet. Her high damage combined with a HoT like effect upon firing seeds and AOE upon death makes her the essential pet trink for collectors. good for healers tanks controllers dps.. the all round pet you *should* own ^^

A few thoughts..
When leveling an alt and having the opportunity for a item level 66 seasonal trink, I say grab it! it will boost your cr when you hit 30, and you won't have to buy a utility belt so soon. lvl 78 gold rings and neck with a trink with a 66 item level, should get you to T1 (cr43) so you can farm sub-avatar to get to T2 (cr53), without having to spend marks or empty your main's cash into the broker for epics.
Raiding.. I ALWAYS have Blossom in all my Raid suit armories. even just in my tank, amazing! Blossom is the essential raiding pet imho. She is not afraid of getting in the bosses face too, which can HoT help the tank.. but i understand each tank has a preference as to pets; so please respect. when tanking I don't mind them as i usually can draw the aggro out. only a few times they out-aggro'd me (Ras in DP alert).
Pet Strategies
I have a new strategy im trying out, Lair Back-up max with Grand Summon on my Soc DPS, if I had the boo-tility belt and 3 boo's.. I could do what I call 'ONE MAN ARMY' Strategy. I recently (last night) started using extended supercharge white mod. happy so far :)

A PC Player's Guide to 60fps and Higher Resolutions..
Hi guys
Do you have a PC that can do more than DCUO let's you? .. are you locked to 30 frames per second? Want higher resolutions but can't get them to appear in DCUO? Well this guide hopes to alleviate and steer you in correct fashion, despite your problems. This guide is for Nvidia users, as this is what I use. AMD is not always agreeable with custom res. as AMD users know.
So, the current NV Drivers at time of writing were not keeping custom resolutions. 361.43 x64 Windows 10 Pro.
However this did NOT stop me! and shouldn't stop you.
Graphics Settings
--
In NVCP (Nvidia Control Panel)
Manage 3D Settings> Program Settings tab> Drop down Menu then select DCUO>
Depending on your particular graphics card, try each setting then launch the game to see how much it impacts performance.
find the right balance for you.
I have a GTX 970 and have everything maxed. If you have SLI (I had this before) this may improve graphics even more without the performance impact.
Higher Frame Per Second
--
So still in NVCP, at the Program Settings for DCUO. Turn on the V-Sync. Launch DCUO.. once logged into DCUO turn off V-Sync in the Settings (which are Options> Settings> Video). If your desktop resolution is the same as DCUO and your desktop res. is 60fps this *should* give you 60 frames per second.
Higher Resolutions
--
A program called Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) gives you access to higher resolutions, with a caveat. Your panel MUST be ABLE to do that resolution! you can BREAK your panel if it does not.
Now NV has a downsampling technology called 'DSR' that gives you access to higher resolutions, regardless of panel ability (no panel breaking), I HIGHLY recommend you use that first unless you know *for a fact* that your panel (TV, Monitor) can do higher res. or you do not mind buying a new panel if *you* break yours. you have been warned.
DSR is available for higher end graphics cards, to turn this tech on:
In NVCP (Nvidia Control Panel)
Manage 3D Settings>Global Settings>DSR Factors, then add everything when the little pop up shows more settings, these are extra resolutions. ..once done, you also have access to DSR Smoothness.
The DSR Resolutions automatically showed up for me in DCUO launcher and in game. so nothing more to do i guess. :)
I have a 3D panel which maxes out at 2048x1536 *ACTIVE PIXELS* which is *not* downsampling tech. and so needs custom res. setting. for this I use CRU. I am currently not using DSR as I want max pixel count.. but to those with lower pix count, DSR is many many more times more powerful than AA (like x 10 + increased perspective correctness) and should be, rightfully, flocked to! the tech is AMAZING!
1. Google CRU and download.
2. open CRU and select your panel (might be a few even if there's only one output).
3. add standard resolutions.. eg. 2048x1536, 1920x1200, 1920x1440. at 60fps. your panel NEEDS to be able to do it already.
3b. for custom resolutions, again your panel NEEDS to be able to do it already. but using this custom utility automatically does the pixel maths for you. so you do not have to. just click off interlaced, then put the desired resolution in the two top most boxes.
save to the extension block also, by checking the box. and click OK then reboot.
I hope this has steered you in the right direction for improved graphics in DCUO.
peace

SigmaAtom's Guide to 'Comping on your Class'
Tuesday, 24 May 2016
Hi guys
Many players have more than one armory, having two DPS armories, allows for one armory to integrate features for raids from your class.. let me explain.
Comping is Compensating, to 'Comp on your Class' is to use the advantages available to you due to having access to your other role.
Powersets
Tank Classes:
Fire
Ice
then*
Atomic
Earth
Rage
Tank Class DPS, this means your primary role is Tank, no matter if you use the Powerset to only DPS.This is becuase all Powerset's share the ability to be DPS role.
Tank DPS comping is different to the other two classes, as it is access to the Tank gear that's used to comp, while for controller and healers, it's the extra abilities.
My Tank DPS has 4 pieces of Tank armor in DPS stance.
Head + Might (VII)
Neck + Might White Mod
Chest + Might + Power (VII)
Legs + Might + Power (VII)
I'm fully Modded and White Modded.
Each Powerset has things it's good at, for example Fire is a mix of healer and tank, although you only heal yourself. Ice has great defense even in DPS stance. Rage is *in someways* a mix of controller and tank, so much so, it is known as the 'mob tank'. For Earth comping, I switchout my DPS shield for 'Reinforce' its a prec buff but adds crit chance. I use 'Word of Power' and WM, leaning on crystal to do the most of the grunt work, while I PoT-Shield her, focusing on my WM as Earth doesn't have a AM for power back. Comping on Tank class reduces your overall performance but increases your survivability.
(I also use maxed out lair backup and OMAC trink + Blossom, the lair backups benefit from reinforce buff)
Healer Classes:
Nature
Sorcery
then*
Celestial
Electricity
Water (upcoming)
We are mixing our support role with DPS for a mix of versatility and burn (Damage). For Sorcery my comp DPS is, Boon of Souls (shielding), Word of Power (PoT myself and the group), Rejuvenate (Priority Heal) , Offering (PoT Shield pet) and Watcher.. this is the Sorc Tank pet. I realize this is specific to Sorc, but having a Priority Heal, Group Shielding* and Word of Power as it's available to all Healer Classes in DPS stance will assist in support.
Controller Classes:
Gadgets
Mental
then*
Light
Munitions
Quantum
Much like Healer comping, except you are using Charge instead of Priority Heal*.
Note: I just tested online with Sigma and for some reason I could not charge my group member.
More testing is required.
Having SC's for both DPS and Support will give you access to things you probably wouldn't have in your main DPS or Support loadout.
I hope at least I've given you a reason to buy another armory and try a mix of support and DPS roles.
have a great and bizarre day!
Sigma
* * *free and non-free
*Water is unknown, but as group shielding is included in all the other Healer Classes, seems highly probable.
* I just tried doing this with Mental but it did not work. but I know it worked with Hard Light before I switched in March. It *may be* that Charge in DPS stance is not available to Controller Class DPS's if that Powerset has AM.
A Rough Mini-Guide to General Powersets
--------------
Tank Classes:
Fire
Ice
then*
Atomic
Earth
Rage
Serums (upcoming)
Fire
-----
Fire is a mix of Tank and Healer, as odd as that combination sounds, it's actually smartly done. However, you only have one group heal, called 'Inferno'*, but you also have PI* of many self heals. Inferno grants 'Immolation' PI to yourself and all near-by allies.
Notes from a Vet. I used to play with a Fire DPS, he was the 'first' First Officer of ORS*, Inferno from him would give you upto 5 ticks of heals and upto 5 ticks of power, he was cr 70, this was back in 2012. The heal and power was very light, but was very welcomed as you didn't expect someone of his class to do that. I now have my own Fire DPS, cr 76 as i write, while that isn't a lot of experience, I would guess, if my CR + SP were high enough, I could comp as quisi-healer to the front line. I don't know if Inferno still gives group members a little power back, but I imagine that was a glitch at the time that has now been worked out.
Fire is said to be nigh invincible in 1v1 PVP, however a good Ice Tank will give Fire 'a run for it's money'. Also you need an *excellent* loadout and have your PI 'down to a T', or when you run out of power, you'll go down just like anyone else.
Ice
-----
Ice imho, is a mix of Tank and DPS, used to be known as the 'Shield Tank', and as Tank it still *can* take a decent troller at your back to aide you. The DPS side, which I have an alt as, is remarkable, for the fact that once you activation Ice Armor (and keep it going) even in DPS stance, your defense is very strong, I wouldn't say tank like, but out of all DPS, innately, by far probably the strongest.
Has a few control effects also, but I found out-and-out DPSing easy enough, I didn't use them often.
Great in PvP arenas, near unstoppable.
Atomic
-------
Atomic is a mix of a little of all roles. having self heal, CC, and 20% damage absorbtion from your aura from incoming attacks.
Notes: Atomic is great in PVP *if* you run with other atomic players, as afaik, the effects stack together with each player. I have seen two atomic players* take down an Ice Tank.. the look on his face haha! he came back to repeatedly give us 'no way' emotes haha. He was wearing 100 gear and fully modded.
I've never played with or as an Atomic Tank, as most use Atomic for DPSing... mm.. maybe once in DP Alert, Sammy* tried it, was OK.
Earth
-------
I have a lot of experience Earth Tanking these days. Earth imho is a straight out Tank OR straight out DPS, depending on which pet you use.
Tanking VERY easy to understand. give the pet power, work on your aggro. stick to the basics.
having some sort of self heal and Word of Power in there i find, helps too.
DPSing.. again very easy. work on your WM. give the pet power.
I use my PI often during WM, give crystal a hand. I also use the precs boost 'Reinforce'.. this means she will have a precs boost while building power, and you will too for your WM while you wait on your CTD for her PoT.
I'm no expert on PvP in general.. but I didn't find Earth that great in arenas. only tried a few times and got embarrassed though. imho Amazing for PVE.
Rage
--------
Rage imho is a mix of Tank and Controller.. much like Hard Light is a mix of Controller and Tank, but we'll come to that later..
Rage is known as the 'Mob Tank' with good cause, for Rage controlling mobs is pretty easy. 'Ragebringer' is a great example of the 'controller' side of Rage, the mobs don't have a choice but to come to you.
Rage is quite a complex power.. for those who can master it, well done, myself and a few others find it difficult. but I *am* working on an Rage alt level 14 atm, and Zigma was Rage until I gave up and switched powers, I had gotten him to T4 back when the highest cr was 106.
Serums
----------
Serums is an upcoming powerset, as per, not much is known, but as it's based on Bane, you would think it would be 'gadgets-like' as it's Batman related. it's said at the time of writing to be a Tank class..however Atomic was originally meant to be a healer class, so who knows?
---------------------
To sum up Tank classes.. they are all well made, well thought out, and can be used effectively.
Fire right now for PVE DPS, is considered a little low in (ironically) 'burn', however, I wish to see for myself at end game what I can and cannot do. I had made him just for PvP 1v1..but im having so much fun with him, im curious. also that seasonal pollen aura looks rocking with Fire.
* * *free and non-free
* I had started to think I had imagined this o_O .. but now I've went and made my Fire alt, I can see what it was. phew!
*Aldencek, amazing PvP Phase player. once seen him take out 3 guys solo who were harassing me and our then TO. he beat them 3 times.. then one only came back while the other two fled.. hahah he kikd that guys az.
*(Power Interactions, as known as 'secondary effects')
*former ORS staff members, one officer and our old PVP Capt. and TO (Tactical Officer) Sammy18. both full 98 gear iirc. Sad to see Sammy retire, but as we say in ORS.. RLFC (Real Life Comes First).
Healer Classes:
Nature
Sorcery
then*
Celestial
Electricity
Water (upcoming)
Nature
---------
Nature imho is a mix of Healer and Controller. It's also the very much 'do-it-all' of powersets affair..as you have access to different forms, if you are *very* low on cash, so-much-so you can't afford armories, nature is the way to go. Your forms become your armories..
While I don't really think you should run with only one armory, I've had staff with cash problems or DB didn't accept their payment method or country. Nature is one to consider.. you get access to all movement modes, and for each form you can choose a loadout. however with one caveat.. unlike armories your gear and SP allocation remains the same.
Nature used to be the 'go-to' PvP healer, but as my chinese whispers tell me, this has since been nerfed. The reason it was a great healer was the amount of heal back you got from only a little power.. also, nature healers could switch forms at anytime and go DPS.
oh! and the control effects in PvP used to be very strong..i don't know what they are like now.
Nature for a long time was the strongest PVE healer out of the healer classes, but again, my chinese whispers tell me, this has been nerfed.
I don't know why the Devs would nerf this power on all fronts .. perhaps becuase it's a free power and you can 'get-by' without armories .. or perhaps the rumors are untrue. DPS side is pretty weak.. there are better DPS's out there you can use for free.
I have a T7 Nature alt, I made her for PvP Healing, but now I hear that nature's nerfed for PvP healz, I don't think she will see much playtime.
Sorcery
-----------
Sorcery is very straightforward, you have three pets, one is a Tank, one a DPS and one a Healer.
Having armories for each is imho *essential*.. some people forget about Guardian, the Tank pet, as you get him early on in the game, however, when DC Alert was end-game, I rem, we were in an instance, I was healer and we were stuck for a tank, we managed to do it with Guardian as Tank. everyone was impressed :) .. I switched to my 'DPS Raid' armory which had comp healz and Guardian.
Just like Earth, I work on my WM for DPS and PoT Fury, and let Fury do the grunt work. very simple.
Same for healing, except I try not to draw aggro, so no WM. PoT Watcher, make sure I have any 'mats' down that the group needs, and keep a close eye on my power and their health. I have WoP on pretty much every char of mine. so I do build up a little just to help out the troller.
Grand Summon with max Lair Backup is crazy haha! my own Raid Party!
Celestial
--------
Celestial is known as the 'buff healer' as you are granted and grant many buffs while healing.. other healer classes do this to, but not to the extent of Celestial. Long range healing is a speciality too.
Celestial is a great power in general.. it's based on Wonder Woman and Circe, like Gadgets for Batman and Fire is for Superman.
I've seen Celestial players do crazy things in PVE.. like Celestial Tanking, due to the nature of the buffs granted, Celestial can express all roles.. I mean that, including PoTing the group like a controller.. 'Sacrifice' does all these things in spades.
Xigma was originally Celestial until T6, however, I found the animations took too long, and while I was doing them my group member/s would kill the mobs, and i'd just be standing there killing nothing.
Funny story.. I was running WWL duo as Zigma with a random player who was Celestial, we got near the end, and I had seen she was taking *ages* to kill the mobs.. so I killed two groups of mobs and turned round and she was still working on one group of mobs.. i was just floating there thinking 'oh man.. im so glad i switched' .. well she caught me staring and thought i was skating. we finished the instance.. and then you want to hear the griefing she gave me! 'fix your earth loadout noob!' and some such chat.. she had died three times since we started and me not once. She was 8 cr above me, +50SP and got 100 thousand dam ahead.. enough to grief at me i suppose..?? no.
Solo DPS I found super rough, but I've seen Celestial DPS do great in raids, taking huge whacks off bosses. it's a great power, and one day, i'll make a Celestial alt again.
Electricity
-------------
Electricity is imho a mix of Healer and Controller. Stun mixed with healing effects work well.
It's well known for one bad thing..the DPS is the weakest DPS of all classes/powersets. But you know what? the Healer side is *excellent!*.. if you're running duos with random players, and they see you are electric healer, they will welcome you, becuase they know they won't die. As long as they can burn sufficiently, and you can keep your power up to heal, no duo boss can kill you (both).
Electricity is known as the 'Tank Healer' becuase of the amount of raw heal you can give, you can even cover two tanks in a raid. Although with a caveat that the group (DPS's Controller) might suffer a little, but if you run with two healers you will be fine. You can also HoT the full raid party.
Water (upcoming)
--------
Water seems to be a mix of Controller and Healer.. I strongly suspect, if it's ready, it'll be shared at this year's (2016) Summertime Event, as the event itself is Aquaman based.
I'll update when the powerset comes out.
---------------
To sum up while Electricity and Nature are having some severe balancing problems, Sorcery and Celestial, more than compensate for them, if you're a free/premium player, Sorc is definitely the way to go, having strong abilities in all given roles. if membership/bought, having a Celestial main/alt, gives you much versatility in raids, also making you popular with group members for buffing/HoT/PoT/Shielding them so much.
* * *free and non-free
Controller Classes:
Gadgets
Mental
then*
Light
Munitions
Quantum
Gadgets
---------
Gadgets is imho a mix of Controller and DPS. In fact, with enough SP, it turns Damage Dealer or as close as, but I'll cover DD and powerset strengths later.
Gadgets has a trick up its sleeve for any occasion. And should be the 'go-to' controller class for DPS, the controller role, while not perfect, is very good, ..effective. little bit of tank thrown in
This in some ways was 'meant' to be a 'pet power' with the provided pet Turret, however, his DPS is very low, and his effectiveness for troller, is imho, very bad. You will find yourself relying more on the powers and AM then anything else.
Along with Quantum, these are the two top controller class DPS's. Some might say Mental.. but I find that it's balanced well with Rage and Atomic. My chinese whispers suggest, that Mental stacks per player like Atomic does in PVP, however i haven't had the chance to see or experience that myself.
Mental
---------
Mental is very much a controller, even in DPS stance, what I mean by that is; even though you do good damage, the style of the power is highly reliant on your ability to CC.
I've liked Mental more than I thought I would, having switched in march from Hard Light from launch. The controller side is great, easy to use, WM works well as does the AM.
What *was* good.. I read that now Mental PVP has been nerfed..was the crazy crits you'd get in PVP arenas, using Mass Terror also.. that was such a laugh! watching people's faces (actions the showed their emotions). I once killed an Ice Tank/DPS in PVP with Mass Hysteria. we were in Star Labs, in fact I killed him twice.. third time he came round to see if I was still there, which I was still in MH, we saw each other.. and he ran away! oh my sides! laughing and laughing! :') .. he had been killing my teammates over and over and i went and sorted him out hahaha
I'd recommend to any Mental DPS using Mass Hysteria, it's like Grand Summon but for Mental. Your movement mode gets bunked, but still you should be able to most any enemy.
Light
-------
Light in imho is a mix of Controller and Tank, I said we'd get to this and now we will, I don't know if HL was meant to be a Tank class originally, but it has many 'Tank' like features without the ability to protect yourself. Light Claws pulls you all the way to the boss when you're only trying PoT the group, you end up standing next to the tank looking like a doofus.
I'll stand by, what I've always said, HL is *very* good Debuff Troller. but as for the other roles.. oh man! this powerset has problems!
Even in troller role, you draw aggro out of nowhere! from all the long range attacks, your moves throw you around the map at bad guys or even at groups of bad guys or even at the boss! same in DPS role.
A recent update brought it damage (meant to be) in line with Rage.. Rage being the most balanced and centered powerset. I found, that I died just as quickly.. while giving out more damage. : ))
Something.. i feel had been missing in DCUO for a while.. Trollers having gear that significantly boosts health, not defense but health. it would imho match the RP of the role. Healers bodyguard.
I've been told that HL DPS, is not as bad as I thought it was.. but yknow.. believe me I tried.. no; I *tried*. I have 10 armories on Sigma trying to fix HL DPS, only 4 of them did I need, the other 6 was me trying to fix the dps side.
Light Blast is a great Debuff combo'd with stun.. used it loads of times to protect healers. it's the HL equivalent of Ragebringer. Triage should have been a group heal imho. Impact last i checked, used to give power to group members even in DPS role, that was pretty decent, however I don't know if it was intended. Snap Trap was good for both DPS and trolling. Chainsaw, good for DPS.
I know I complained a bit there, but I was a HL player vet, and I *have* made a new HL alt lvl 7, because this power has so much potential, that I still see in there. But, in future when I make the Infinite Combos, i'll exclude the moves that 'map pull' me.
Munitions
-------------
I don't have enough experience playing as muni to write about it.. and I haven't played with any muni players long term to learn more about it, so once I have my muni alt leveled, i'll come back and give my rundown.
Quantum
-------------
Quantum is very much a controller, even as DPS. saying that; imho, the DPS side is stronger than the troller side. Meaning more effective as DPS, even though that DPS is controller style (see Mental).
Last I checked it was also a great Vita-Troller too.. reasonable debuff-troller also. Like with Gadgets, if you pour SP into these powers, you DO get good returns. Quantum is *probably* the best Vita-Troller, combined with the ability to teleport to KO group members, makes for well rounded effective powerset.
At it's launch, it was unstoppable in PVP 1v1, as the players would use a OP CC effect that lasted way too long, then just WM x 3/4 to kill you. This has since been nerfed.
-------
To sum up, the controller classes are quite the mixed bag, I imagine trying to fit such a unique style of power into game..oh! didn't you know??.. Controllers are unique to DCUO! the team invented them.. well done team!.. i digress, style of power in the game, must be hard to determine how players will use said powers and how the player's style of play can be complemented by new powers. What 'powers do trollers need?' the dev team must prose.
If you peeps will take a shameless plug for Cosmic/Galactic troller powers.. please hit my other thread with a like :)
Third of it's Kind
Well, I've been writing this for 5 hours.. so i need a break.. phew!
have a great and bizarre day!
Sigma
-------------
oh! ..Before I go.. here is ATM (May 2016) the Powersets on order of Damage out.
Damage Dealer a.k.a DD
Ice (great for PVP)
Earth
Sorcery (good for PVP)
then almost DD, benefiting from 150 SP+:
Gadgets
Quantum
The more SP the better!
then :
Rage (decent for PVP)
Mental (good for PVP)
Celestial
Atomic (good for PVP)
then:
Nature
Fire (great for 1v1 PVP)
and to complete the sets, again, in my humble opinion;
Hard Light (recent update brought it more in line with Rage damage wise)
Electric
Celestial Healer is a great long range PVP healer. Sorc is DD.. but the damage is a slower burn than Ice or Earth.. but just as good once you cast Grand Summon, maybe better. Electric is super broken on DPS side.. I had used HL after the update, it did improve my damage but becuase the controller classes dps's are so weak defense wise, it didn't help me that much.

We are polite.. what is the sense in driving people away from the community by flashing epeens? If a person is *truly* loyal to you, they will offer that loyalty, not need bullied into submission. Taking charge in mixed league situations, is tricky, politeness is key.. as the person or people you are with did not ask for another leaguer to tell them what to do. Their league staff has that job. and only them. I am not afraid of taking charge, I am afraid of ruining the community. EUPC players will remember the near community collapse in 2012 due to griefing, and while it is much less than it was then... these days in autumn 2015, i have seen it creeping back. This is what I teach: If you have a problem with how someone is playing, either be quiet and try to finish or politely excuse yourself and leave, let their league staff worry about them, you don't have to, they are not your problem. They need time to learn and time to be taught by their league staff.)

* * *free and non-free
* * *free and non-free
Celestial
Atomic (good for PVP)
then:
Nature
Fire (great for 1v1 PVP)
and to complete the sets, again, in my humble opinion;

(We are a friendly dedicated league. We will never have more than 50 members, I feel this helps us get to know, serve and train members better.
