just a few thoughts and feelings on the ( idk what it's called.. 'Earth:New Krypton'?) storyline. So if you have 5 mins, grab a coffee and have a read. enjoy!
Loving it! feels like a true continuation..
Some background for those who aren't familiar with the dynamics;
The House of El, is the last noble house of Krypton, and while Kara (Supergirl) is the oldest of the House El, Kalel (Superman) is the descendant of the most senior member of that house (Jorel); Zod and his men while kryptonians are not of noble birth, but are sworn to protect the nobles. This is why General Zod feels such deep internal conflict.. to attack the 'charge' he is sworn to protect is, even to himself, treason. As with much of the media surrounding him.. even though at times he threatens Kalel.. he never tries to fully kill him, he can neither lower himself to be the traitor and hypocrite nor give up hope that Kalal will one day be the first true noble of New Krypton. He is a kryptonian supremacist and in many ways a fascist, ideals that do not lend themselves to easily hypocrisy (as odd as that sounds, lowering himself to human standards is not an option).
Non is also a noble, but driven mad by regret. Non and Jorel were partners in science, Zod does not see him as a candidate for restoring the nobles due to his insanity.
Ursa is Zod's partner/wife. in their media, they have a child together called Lor-Zod. Ursa was the person given charge to arrest Jorel and Non for treason, however she discovered that they (Jorel and Non) were telling the truth, she freed them and reported the truth to Zod. Zod started a war on Krypton, believing that the Science Council had hidden the truth (this is also why he doesn't blame Kalel for Krypton's destruction).
Kandor is a bottled city. Using kryptonian science, one city of krypton was saved.
Jorel and Zorel (Supergirl's Father) are brothers.
Alura (still alive) Supergirl's mother is the leader of Kandor, She pardoned Zod and Ursa for their crimes.
Lara is Kalel's mother.
Superman, Kalel. We know who he is, but what are his motivations? He does not care about Krypton, he has shown in many many instances preferring Earth to anywhere else including Krypton. WHY? Why is it so easy for him to disregard his heritage? Is it solely his upbringing.. or could it be in his eyes.. Krypton as a society failed, and he keeps his thoughts secret. He knows he is meant to be the next 'prince', but that seems to mean nothing to him. What are his true motives other than protecting the Earth?
Bizarro, Superman's clone (going by DCUO) made by Lex Luthor in the cloning facility. interactions with Zod seem uncertain. Traditionally, he is morally ambiguous, a well meaning person, but becuase of his confusion, a disaster waiting to happen. 'A 7 year old with a taser' to coin a phrase. He and Superman are actually friends, and not enemies. and he acts they way he does, to try to NOT mimic Superman, he is trying to do the opposite and in his confused mind this makes him a hero.
Lastly, there is Power Girl, She is the Earth-2 version of Supergirl, with some caveats. She is immune to Earth-1 Kryptonite. She is known to love extreme horror movies. She *could* be considered as Superman's niece not cousin. She is rumored to be auto-sexual (attracted to Supergirl). She can be harmed by unprocessed materials such as trees or rocks. She has ties to Atlantean heritage. She while having kryptonian abilities is not solely tied to sunlight regeneration, she also uses super-willpower to overcome, unlike the kryptonians of Earth-1. She is considered a much more adult themed character than Supergirl.
Her dynamic in this is uncertain. From what I gleaned from the message boards she seems to hate Zod, and thats all i got. Could it be Earth-2 Zod did something to her.., it seems it's not in the comics so I'm just throwing out an idea, not a background.
The Non referenced in the Supergirl TV show, is not the same as our DCUO Non, the TV Show's one is a pale imitation of the full strength char we have in DCUO. They are just using the name on the TV Show because it's recognizable to fans. Whether or not Non was/is Supergirl's uncle seems uncertain. and while i'm on the subject of the TV Show, Supergirl's costume is awful and im glad we have our DCUO Supergirl back in the T3 Iconic Battle Suit room. :)

I like the TV show but that setup/costume is nothing like Supergirl imho.
